who is dustin john higgs? in 1996 there was a meeting between 3 young black women and 3 young black men. when higgs was driving, willis haynes was in the front seat and victor glory was in the back behind the young women. when the car stopped haynes got out and shot the three women. higgs did not commit this crime however he is being put on death row for it. the only reason he is on death row is because he was accused of encouraging hayes to shoot the women despite hayes himself saying this is false.

higgs is set to be executed on january 15th, 2021

first things first, what is the black lives matter movement? the black lives matter movement is a social movement to stop racial inequality. it's a movement for black people to be seen and treated as human and to stop police brutality, and overall injustices, committed against black people.

what can i do to help? educate yourself and others. share donation links and donate if you're financially stable enough. if you can go out and protest, then go out and protest but if you can't then sign petitions. if there's no justice, don't let there be peace.

but what about all lives matter? why is it only just black lives? nobody is saying all lives do not matter. we are saying that at this moment in time, black people are being treated as if their lives do not matter.

black lives matter isnt a statement to say ONLY black lives matter. it's saying that black lives matter just as much as other lives and deserve to be treated as such. it's not saying we matter more just that we matter

but what about [insert minority]? nobody is saying black people are the only minority to ever suffer from racial inequality. we're saying that at this moment in time black people are suffering incredibly and need our voices to be heard. please understand that.
